Dye record

Black (marked, scratched) → BlackRestored in the same colour

  1. 01Condition on arrival

A Prada Cleo, carried often, with fine scratches built up on the surface and dye transfer showing. It is brushed leather with a brush-stroke sheen, so even small scratches stand out along its lines.

  2. 02Target colour

The whole bag was re-dyed in the same black.

  3. 03Colour mixing & process

    1. Cleaning (marks and dye transfer)
    2. Levelling the base
    3. Dyeing the whole bag black
    4. A finish that keeps the brushed lines

Covering the marks with colour alone could let them show through again, so the marks and the dye transfer were removed first.

  4. 04Result

In the after photo the whole bag reads as an even glossy black. Before · photo 1 / After · photo 1

  5. 05Limits

There is only one photo before and one after, framed differently. The before photo was taken on display-case glass with strong reflections, which makes the colour hard to judge. Before · photo 1
