Givenchy black leather bag — full cleaning and conditioning

Givenchy · Cleaning & refinishing

These are not dye jobs. Where leather was replaced, the new part can look lighter than before — that is new leather, not leather dyed lighter.

  3. 03About the work

A Givenchy handbag in black grained leather. The outer leather was grimy and dry, its grain looking parched, and dirt had built up in the lining and the inner pockets.

This was care rather than recolouring — bringing the condition back by cleaning and conditioning — so the outer leather and the lining were cleaned separately, each with a cleaner suited to the material. Once the leather was dry it was conditioned, restoring a supple feel and a soft sheen.

The after photos include the lining and the inside of the zip pocket. Compare the grain and sheen of the outer leather with the intake photos.
