  1. 01Condition on arrival

An MM6 Maison Margiela Japanese bag, folded into its triangular shape. The leather handle loop, embossed with the numbers logo, had dents and scratches, and the colour looked worn off in those spots.

  2. 02Target colour

A partial colour touch-up matched to the original black.

  3. 03Colour mixing & process

    1. Smoothing the dented areas
    2. Colour matching
    3. Partial colour touch-up
    4. Finishing

The dented, lifted surface was smoothed first, then colour went on the damaged spots only, with a small brush so the debossed numbers would not fill in. The body of the bag was not touched.

  4. 04Result

On the same handle loop, the debossed numbers are still crisp. Before · photo 1 / After · photo 5

  5. 05Limits

This was a small, local touch-up, so the difference in the photos is subtle. After · photo 5
