Dye record

Grey (rubbed white) → GreyRestored in the same colour

  1. 01Condition on arrival

A Celine Belt Bag in grey grained leather. The back, which rubs against the body, and the bottom corners had several spots where the colour had worn to white.

The white rub marks on the back corner are visible. Before · photo 2

  2. 02Target colour

The original grey. The front and flap were in good condition and were not touched; only the damaged corners and back were worked on.

  3. 03Colour mixing & process

    1. Cleaning
    2. Mixing to the grey still on the bag
    3. Dyeing the damaged areas
    4. Finishing

Grey shows a blue or yellow cast when it is even slightly off, so the colour was matched to the grey still on the bag.

It was feathered in so no border shows.

  4. 04Result

The white rub marks on the back corners now continue the surrounding grey. Before · photo 2 / After · photo 3

  5. 05Limits

No particular limits were noted. Any difference the leather keeps is explained before work begins.
