Chanel Classic Flap, large, black lambskin — panels replaced

Chanel · Leather replacement

These are not dye jobs. Where leather was replaced, the new part can look lighter than before — that is new leather, not leather dyed lighter.

  3. 03About the work

Leather replacement on a black lambskin Chanel Classic Flap, large. The damaged panels were separated and replaced with new black lambskin, then stitched so that the diamond quilting lines continue as before.

Lambskin is soft, so the puff of each quilted diamond can easily vary; the diamonds of the new panels were matched to the puff and shape of the existing ones. The original chain and CC turn-lock were refitted.

No before photos survive for this job. The 15 after photos show the front, back, corners and inside.
