Celine Nano Luggage — crossbody strap shortened

Celine · Stitching & repairs

These are not dye jobs. Where leather was replaced, the new part can look lighter than before — that is new leather, not leather dyed lighter.

The record

  1. 01Condition on arrival

The strap was too long, so the bag hung below the hip

  2. 02Main steps

    1. Unpicking the stitching at the strap end
    2. cutting to the requested length
    3. finishing the edge
    4. restitching to the original stitch spacing
  3. 03About the work

The crossbody strap of a grey Celine Nano Luggage. Worn across the body, the bag hung below the hip, and it came in with a request to shorten the strap.

The stitching at the end with the snap hook was unpicked and the strap cut to the requested length. The cut edge was painted with edge paint matched to the original colour, then restitched to the original stitch spacing and thread weight, and the hook refitted.

The bag itself was not touched. The before and after photos show the shorter strap and the hook attachment.
