These are not dye jobs. Where leather was replaced, the new part can look lighter than before — that is new leather, not leather dyed lighter.

03About the work
Hermès Izmir sandals with sky-blue H straps on black soles. The strap ends, where they tuck into the sole, had worn and frayed, and the toe edge of the footbed leather had worn until its fibres lifted.
The straps were removed and replaced with new leather cut to the original shape, matched to the existing sky blue. The frayed toe edges were trimmed and finished to keep them from lifting again.
The third and fourth intake photos show the worn toes and strap ends; the after photos show the same spots tidied.
