Louis Vuitton black grained-leather messenger — LV logo re-coated

Louis Vuitton · Hardware plating & coating

These are not dye jobs. Where leather was replaced, the new part can look lighter than before — that is new leather, not leather dyed lighter.

  3. 03About the work

A Louis Vuitton messenger in black grained leather. The LV logo on the flap is coated to match the leather, and where its raised corners rub, the coating had chipped to the silver base.

The chipped edges were levelled, then the coating was reapplied to match the sheen of the original logo, keeping it off the leather around the logo.

Compare the logo close-ups in the third and fourth intake photos with the second after photo to see the corners that had chipped.
