Work record

Ivory edge (the original tone)No colour change

  1. 01Condition on arrival

A Damier Azur canvas wallet on a white ground. The edge paint around the leather edges had worn and cracked, starting at the folds, and on such a pale colour the grime showed all the more.

The folding corner edges show greyish grime. Before · photo 6

  2. 02Target colour

The edge paint was redone to match the original ivory tone.

Only the edge paint was redone, in its original tone; neither the leather nor the canvas was dyed.

  3. 03Colour mixing & process

    1. Clearing the lifted, cracked edge paint
    2. Repainting the edges in the original ivory
    3. Finishing

The canvas surface was not touched.

  4. 04Result

The folding corner edges now read as an even ivory. Before · photo 6 / After · photo 2

  5. 05Limits

The three after photos are 768×1024 — lower resolution than the before photos — and on a different background (a cutting mat), which limits close and aligned comparison. After · photo 2

  6. 06About these photos
