Dye record

Beige → BlackChanged to a darker colour

  1. 01Condition on arrival

A Chanel Coco Handle in beige caviar with a black handle. The bottom corners and flap edges were worn and soiled, and the request was to make it black.

  2. 02Target colour

Black — a change from beige to a darker colour. The black handle and the gold-tone turn-lock and chain were left as they were.

  3. 03Colour mixing & process

    1. Cleaning
    2. Preparing the base
    3. Dyeing black
    4. Finishing

The base was prepared first so no brown cast would show through.

The dye was applied so the caviar grain stayed visible.

  4. 04Result

With the flap open and from the front, the whole body is black and the caviar grain is visible. Before · photo 4 / After · photo 4

  5. 05Limits

How far the corner wear was improved was not recorded separately — please judge from the photos.
