Dye record

Beige nylon → BlackChanged to a darker colour

  1. 01Condition on arrival

A Prada handbag with a beige nylon body and black leather trim. The pale nylon had yellowed, and the base and corners were soiled.

  2. 02Target colour

From beige to black to match the trim — a change to a darker colour. Only the nylon was dyed.

In the intake photos the nylon reads as a yellowed, faded beige. Before · photo 9

  3. 03Colour mixing & process

    1. Cleaning
    2. Mixing a colour for nylon
    3. Dyeing black
    4. Finishing

Nylon does not take leather dye well, so the colour was mixed from a dye suited to nylon.

The leather trim and the stitching were kept free of colour, and the triangle logo and the lock were left as they were.

  4. 04Result

In the same studio, from the same front angle, the nylon is now black, while the white stitching and the triangle logo are unchanged. Before · photo 9 / After · photo 8

  5. 05Limits

No particular limits were noted. Any difference the leather keeps is explained before work begins.
