03About the work
A belt with a silver Interlocking G buckle on a black Guccissima (GG-embossed) leather strap. Long wear had built up fine scratches on the front of the buckle and dulled its shine.
Plating only goes on evenly over a smooth base, so the scratched surface was finely smoothed first, then re-plated in a silver tone and polished.
Only the buckle was worked on; the leather strap was not touched. Compare the reflections on the buckle in the intake and after photos.
